Scion xB Audio, Video, & Security Scion xB in car entertainment (aka Scion xB I.C.E.). With all the room available the sky is the limit when adding Scion xB car audio and video. While you're tinkering with the Scion xB electrical system why not install a Scion xB security system.

question about the stock pioneer

Hay
My hearing is very bad, I even have to use hearing aids which help some but not enough. The stock radio and cd are not loud enough. I was wondering can you perhaps simply have an amp and maybe even some new speakers instaled and keep the Pioneer head unit?
Are the stock speakers any good?

Thanks
God bless,
Kim

Re: question about the stock pioneer

yes you could change the speakers and add an amp, my current setup is the stock head unit, 4 6.5in sony speakers (no amp) and 12in sub powered by a 700 wat amp and it works for me

Smile report from stereo shop

Hay
We keep the back seat in our xb down so as to have room for the Greyhound and two Yorkies so I can't have a big box with subs back their. The fellow at the stereo shop said I should consider this idea, what do you think? He said putting one 12 inch sub behind the front passenger seat and a 250 continious/400 peak amp under the passenger seat. Would that be good? Would that be a powerfull enough amp? I could just get by with the stock stereo and forget the whole expense if doing it would not be way better.

God bless,
Kim

Re: report from stereo shop

I would look into some shallow mount subs either Rockford Fosgate, MB Quartz, and Pioneer. Then if you just want to feel a little extra bass then you will be fine with just one. I would suggest putting one sub under the passenger seat and the amp under the drivers... or a sub under each seat then put the amp in the hatch. Just for the record what kinda B are we talking? Gen1 or Gen2?
