| No power to the stereo! Help!!! Alright, so I was get to work on Friday afternoon, and I park my car and keep the car running and have the stereo on while I change into my work boots as I always do, when all of a sudden, the stereo turns off. I thought it was just my ipod freezing up on me as it does from time to time, but it wasn't. The whole head unit and amp turned off and I can't seem to find out what the problem is.
I got up this morning and switched out my 2008 HU for my 2006 HU, but that doesn't seem to be the problem cuz the HU still won't even power up. I looked at the fuse box under the hood and under the steering wheel to see if any fuses were blown, but I they look fine. Another problem I have after I checked and re-installed the fuses is that my clock resets back to 1:00 every time I turn the car off
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it?
Thanks,
Alex
I just found this thread, pioneer radio has stopped working...
but they didn't say which fuse or where it is located at. If anyone can hook it up with some pics or something so I know where to go, that would be awesome.

| Re: No power to the stereo! Help!!! Anything else off? Cig Lighter, Dome light, etc. If yes, then it's the fuse. Recheck them. The one under the dash is 15Amp "ACC", i believe. Bet verify the ones under the hood too. |

The alert that tells you if the keys are in the ignition and if the headlights are one aren't working as well, so I guess the ACC needs to be replaced. Should I replace it with a 15 amp fuse again, or should I go higher??? |

| Re: No power to the stereo! Help!!! Stick with the 15amp fuse. If you go higher, you will probably fry something since it will no longer blow the fuse where its at a level that won't cause damage. |

Hopefully this works out, and hopefully Autozone carries the tiny fuses that our cars use.
I just read on SL that its the DOME fuse under the hood that powers the stereo, so I'm gunna replace that one and the ACC fuse thats under the steering wheel and see if that works.

| Re: No power to the stereo! Help!!! it seems these days and from my experience, that the radio and acc fuses are the last ones I check. first try to use the horn. if it works, look to see if the domelight is on. clock needing to be reset tells me it's prolly the domelight fuse or something like that. check that fuse box under the hood too. |

As much as I like this forum, Scion Life just has much more info on trouble shooting and what not than this forum does. I did a quick search on there, and I found which fuse needed to be replaced in a few seconds. |

You were advised to recheck fuses including the ones under the hood even after you said they looked fine. Plus we have an older thread about the same problem that points to the underhood fuse. |

| Re: No power to the stereo! Help!!! Oh, my bad. I guess I didn't see that thread when I used the search button. The search button on SL is still better and SL tends to point out almost every last detail than this forum does. The main problem with SL is all the $h!t talking that goes back and forth.
The main point is, I was able to pin point the problem much quicker using the SL search button than I was able to on here, and I still would much rather post on here than SL any day of the week.
SL - great for info, bad for posting
Clubxb - ok for info, great for posting |

| Re: No power to the stereo! Help!!! are you running the amp remote wire off of an aftermarket deck or off of the fuse box? If you are running it off of the fuse box I suggest you use a different circuit with a higher load capacity so you don't pop another fuse.
