| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... I got the yellow, wally world ones. The pretty yellow, good for 2 bucks. The bulbs aren't yellow though, but they look yellow cause the gold reflector on the inside. They fit great in place of the pop out thing on the lower grill. Hope i never need a tow. . . |

| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... Alright, here is yellow headlight bulbs: (note, these are NOT HID)
Here is McCulloch 3000K HIDS: (these are REAL HIDS, ballast, igniters and all)
These are Amber Fogs: (OEM Lens, painted Amber.. There is a DIY in the DIY section)
What you are referring too in your OP are not HID Fogs. They are Halogen Fogs. Unfortunately the term HID is properly miss used amongst brand packaging, and has effectively become miss used amongst consumers...
An HID lighting system is a gas filled light bulb, a ballast, a igniter and relay, as well as a power supply. If you are just replacing a bulb, and not adding extra power (or essentially wiring) it is not an HID. Just a Simulated HID color. |

| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... how difficult would it be to install the non-oem fog lights that go on the lower grill?
would you have to drill? or remove the bumper? and also the switch as well, how do we go about on that? |

| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... lamin-x
since I cant post links for another 4 posts - google the above.
make any light any color you want. I suggest using lamin-x and a good yellow bulb (ebay ones worked just fine for me) and you should be golden (hehe) |

| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... I've had painted housings, yellow bulbs and finally Lexus/Acura inserts on my supras, and the yellowest of all, is the Lexus/Acura inserts. I have plain yellow bulbs from eBay on my OEM xB's fogs, but I'm thinking of converting them to signals, and having fogs in the headlights... |

| Re: yellowest fog lights non-oem/HID ... stay away from the ebay bulbs... wattage is too high and will eventually burn your harnesses....
get your bulbs from H4 Solaris Yellow... they have the bulb you need and at the right wattage |

I have a bolt going through the back of the fog light housing and through the bumper. You can reach underneath to put on a nut on the inside of the bumper.
If you keep the mesh inserts, the mod is completely reversible.
As for the wiring, if you done any before, its easy. Go google how a relay works. You can get a headlight one from any parts store or junk yard, get the cheapest one. I tapped my dimmer switch for the 12v signal, so my fogs go on with my sidemarkers/headlights. I also have separate switch to turn the fogs by themselves.
I would write a DIY, but there are so many on this subject.
Good Luck! |

Good Luck! | so by mesh inserts, u mean the ones the pop out blocking the tow hook? and you drilled the fogs to those? wouldnt you be afraid of them falling off??
i havent done wiring before so i wouldnt know...so isnt it possible to hook it to the battery?
thanks! |
