luckily neither my 16 month old son or my wife was with me today. Cars can be replaced.

i have one in my xB...well, did before the chop started, and now i have used 2 on it and 1 is sitting waiting just in case. they fit perfect under the front of the drivers seats on the lip in front of the scissor jack!! gen one that is

So i have been worried today about how insurance is going to cover this and all and remembered that my car is still under warranty. What do you guys think scion will say about this since it seems like it was an electrical fire?

well, since you had after market spring on it, it caused a fire under the dash through the speedo , had you gone with TRD springs and had them installed at the dealer, it would have been covered....thats scion for ya, lmao....

good Q on them...recall soon?? idk.if you had all stock under the dash, id go after them to see whats up!!

I think your insurance would cover the loss now, and then they'll go after toyota to recover their loss. Either way, you should be golden. I'm digging out my chrome extiguisher i had in my Jeep, don't want to be crispy.

nothing at all. stock head unit, speakers, and no added equip at all. Nothing added under the hood, exhaust, lighting or anything else electrical.

the underdash lights that come on the rs4...are the installed at the factory or dealership?

they are under the dash but im pretty sure their wiring goes up through the middle of it

here's a good question...

did you have the AUX port down near the handbreak for iPods and such?

if so, i'm starting to think that everyone who is using this setup "from the dealer" should have a second look at the quality of the install. i'm wondering if this is where alot of the dash centered fires are comming from concidering alot of them seem to be nearly stock setups... i barely notice many heavily modified setups being fire victums due to the wiring done properly.

It is installed at the dealerships when they come in. I found that out when I went and checked out the Electric Wasabi xD. And I also installed a set in my xB and they are fed from the cigarette lighter.
