Interior painting help.

So today i decided to take off the center piece from the dash. I am repainting the original silver trim to match my car. What is the best way to tape off the center part I do not want to paint?

agreed...go to home depot/lowes/ace, and get the blue 3m painters tape. before you stick it down, make sure you clean everything with denatured alcohol..including the pieces you dont want to paint. it will make the tape stick better and clean any armor al off of it. then prime, sand/smooth, paint, wetsand/smooth, clearcoat, wetsand/smooth.......let it dry a day, then 3 step maguires...presto!!!!!
