| How do I fix this leak (see pic)
So there's been some real bad rain lately and I noticed that the headliner right above the driver's side door where the A pillar meets the headliner was dripping wet. I took a look at the rubber liner that goes along the roof on each side and it seems a little loose at the end where it meets the windsheild. (see pic for arrow pointing to where I think the leak is happening)
Is it possible that I could've weakened this when I took out my headliner? Like - is there something underneath the headliner on the roof I can fix or something on the outside of the car I can seal to stop the leak? Does anyone know how to repair thissss? Thanks!

| Re: How do I fix this leak (see pic) can you take a pic of the inside where problamatic area exisits?
silicone always does the trick to eleveate any leaks most of the time. |

| Re: How do I fix this leak (see pic) yeah i'll take a pic when i get home. it's right where the door rubber guard/the A pillar corner/the headliner meet. I'll get a pic it'll be easier to see where the wet spot was... i just don't know if i can pull up that rubber guard on the roof and put silicone or will that mess up the rubber piece?
i'll post later w/pics |

| Re: How do I fix this leak (see pic) You can remove the rubber strip on that side of the roof. It just clips in, start by lifting the part at the rear by the hatch. Once its out you can check if there is a hole under it that should be siliconed. Are you sure its not the windsheld seal though? |

| Re: How do I fix this leak (see pic) i dont know!!! i can kinda press in the windshield guard but i can do that along the entire top of the glass. i think it's the rubber guard on the roof because i can kinda pull it up from the front end and it's loose. i'll take some pics cuz i'm about to go outside and work on the car
to be continueddddd

Okay party peoples I got pics - the first one is where it's wet on the headliner - the other is where I think it's coming in. So you guys are saying silicone - do i have to take that entire rubber piece off starting at the hatch like the post above says? Or do you think I can just pull it up at the start by the windshield and squeeze some silicone in there? Or do I have to take out the headliner? |

| Re: How do I fix this leak (see pic) since you modded the headliner, "a" pillar and all, thats when you noticed the leak, right? well i believe that when you removed the headliner, youve removed the rubber door seal also. maybe the rubber door seal is not "seated" properly, hence leakage may occur. you may want to check that first, then go from there before you start hacking it all up. |
