Thumbs up Cool!

I will have to add this to mine as well! Looks cool, as for safety, it will take a much bigger light to help out with all the morons I share the road with!

Re: Side marker Re-wire

as for me that got my side markers stolen.. ... i got some aftermarket ones and just tapped into the turn signal cables and ran the wiring to the fenders.. my question is.. is there another cable that i can tap into to make my blinkers work correctly as opposed to just staying lit or do i have to remove the whole fender to get to the side marker cable??

Re: Side marker Re-wire

Sorry to take so long....I've just be major sick today, can't get rid of this fever...so I just now got a chance to snap some pictures. The only thing that I did differently than Dave is the rather than using crimp taps, I soldered the wires together, shrink wrapped them, then tried to tape everything I could back into the plastic wrap it was in.

Passenger side turn signal....where I messed up the first time is that I cut the white with black stripe wire at this connector....NOT the right one. The one that you want is further into the fender. You can see the green with orange stripe wire Dave was talking about that you tap into.

Find the white with black stripe wire IN the fender and cut it as close to the light as you can. Just as Dave was saying, take your extra piece of wire and attach to the end of the white/black wire that is going back into your fender. This is where you tap the other end of the extra piece of wire to the green/orange wire.

Driver side....
Here on the driver side of the turn signal you can see the white/black wire (NOT the one you cut) and the solid Green wire that you will tap into.

Also, look for the black/white wire going back into your fender to the side light. This is the one that you cut. You will notice the other end of the cut wire....you do nothing with it.

Like Dave said in his How-To...you won't need an extra piece of wire here...there will be plenty to work with. Take the white/black wire from in the fender and tap it into the solid Green wire(no stripe.)

I know the pictures aren't great but maybe they will help somewhat.

Re: Side marker Re-wire

Hey, could somebody repost some pics on this? I'd like to give it a shot, but don't wanna chance it without pics. Do you think I'll have problems running my halos and the side markers off the same wiring? I don't wanna overload anything.

Re: Side marker Re-wire

Just re-wired these a few weeks ago, and Mr. Sparkle pointed out to me that my bulbs are melting the light housing from constantly being on. I'm using fake Helix clear markers, but he did say it should be Ok when running the stock markers. He had the same problem with his clears.
