DIY: Underbody lighting (lots of pics)

Ive seen people ask about actual pictures taken from underbody installs and the images are limited. So not so much a DIY but a picture guide as to where we installed my kit last night. Now we did have a huge snow (ok its ky, and it was only about a 1/4" but it was big for us) the night before so the box is super dirty and salty. I did use #10 3/4" self tapping hexhead screws. I NEVER use the black self-tappers that come with the kits.

First you have to remove the Viper on the lift (your lift might not come with a Viper but you get the picture)

Next, drive the XB on the lift (or just jack it up like Ive done a zillion times)

Right side tube

Closeup of tube (I like to crank mine down to where the clip starts to turn a hair, then its nice and tight!)

Front of right side tube, lots of zip ties along support bar (im sure it has a proper name)

Left rear connection. (I have had good luck using the tubing Streetglow supplies for waterproofing. I do solder my ends and tape up, then tape up the plastic tube)

I like to use all colors of my zip ties too!

Double strap the front.

Front pic farther back. I could have moved in it closer to front bumper but then i would have a neon line on the ground, whereas positioned here we get a good flow from the front.

Right side lit up

Left side lit up

Rear lit up (i guess my cellphone was kinda shaky, did i mention there was no heat in there? lol)

Transformer mounted

the shoe test

Ill add some better pics with a real camera later. Here is what my phone pics looked like.

Thats about all for now.

Re: DIY: Underbody lighting (lots of pics)

thanks guys...i was a lil disappointed they were not brighter. The old SG kits were clear tubes that lit up bright orange...these new bulbs are coated yellow, and look good...just not as bright. I have a few extra tubes im gonna add in the middle also.
btw...i washed her last night
