DIY: Independent OEM fog lights.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for the damages that you caused. So if your dash is smoking, don't come crying to me.

So anyway, are you tired of having the fog lights turned on at the same time as your headlights. Well, here is what you have to do.

About this DIY:

Time from start to finish:
30-45min (I was taking my time, double checking, and taking pictures)

Level of difficulty in 1-10 range (where 1 stands for easy and 10 stands for extremely hard):
3

Now, on with the DIY.

the lights.

Stuff you'll need:
18in. long (could be shorter) black wire.
Female connector (insulated).
Small flat head screw driver.
Medium philip screw driver.

Well, lets get it started.

Start by pulling out the left and the right knob. It should come off very easily.

2 screws were showing.

Unscrew those screws.

Now carefully place your fingers at the bottom edge of the center trim piece and pull towards yourself. If it all fails, use a small flat head screw driver and carefully pull it out. You don't have to take out the entire center trim piece, half way is fine. Then take the oven out.

Once you taken the oven out, pull off the fog light connector. It will be kinda hard to pull it off because there is a little clip that is holding the connector.

Once you pull it apart...

...now try using a small flat head screw driver and take the white connector apart. we wont be using the connector anymore.

This is how it looks when the top of the connector is off. In order to take the wires out, there is a small clip that is holding the wires. Use the small flat head screw driver to take out the wires.

Once its off...

...use the electrical tape and wrap the black wire because you won't be using it.

Now, get the 18in. wire and clamp one end with the female connector while the other end showing bare wire so that we can ground it to the car.

I circled the screw that you are going to ground the wire at.

I didn't take the time to make it look better because I was testing it if it will work.

Now plug in the green and the black (grounded) wires to the switch. All you have to do now is cross your fingers and switch the thing on.

OMG! It works. If yours doesn't work, recheck your wiring. If it does work, then big congrats to you! Now it's time to put it back together by following the instructions, but in reverse order.

Once you finish cleaning up, it's time to enjoy the looks of it!

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.
