First and foremost the documentation on these units is HORRIBLE! After several
days and many hours of testing and retesting I have finally got my Zenesis Car
Starter/Alarm to fully function. To save anyone who may have purchased one of
these units I am gonna make it very easy for you and spell out EXACTLY what
wires go where and with that knowledge you should be able to do this install by
yourself and in just a few hours.
WARNING!!! You are risking voiding your warantee, and damaging your car.
Perform this install at your own risk! If ANY of this does not make sense, save
yourself time and money and hire a professional to install.
First: goto
http://www.zenesisalarms.com/ and download the install
docs as well as the owners manual. These are the most complete and best docs
pertaining to this unit. The ones available at 180tuning.com were branded for
them and do not offer nearly the in depth info that this one does. Next goto
http://64.85.6.121/diagrams/printpag...8402&MakeID=51
and print an actual installers version of the xB wiring codes and colors.
Second: TAKE YOUR TIME! tape all your harnesses together, make clean
connections yada yada, the end result should look as factory as possible.
Third: prep everything prior to installing. Lay out all your wires identify the
wires you need to connect to, label things... a little prep goes a long way
when something goes wrong or you need to start backing up
The install: start be removing the drivers side kick panel, drivers seat,
center console, the trim under the steering wheel and the cover for the fuse
box. I won't go into how to remove all of those, just search here and you will
find how to's on them very quickly. Once all these items are removed you will
now have access to all the wires you need. With the said here is the wire
correlation you need to do the job properly:
Mounting the unit: The unit mounts nicely above the fuse door cover to the
bottom side of the cubby above that. Hard to explain but you will see what I
mean when you look at it. Temp mount the unit so you can run your wires to
length, and mount unit with CN1, CN2... so forth connectors facing the
firewall. You will need to be able to get to the back of the main unit to turn
tach learn on, so do NOT perm mount it till after you finish install and tach
has been learned.
Mounting the shock sensor: I mounted my shock sensor in the middle of the
vehicle by the radio, using double sided tape I was able to adhere it to the
side of the HVAC system below the radio.
Mounting the antenna: Remove the drivers A-pillar and mount your antenna at the
top of the windshield horz using the black dots as a guide to make it straight
(black dots on windshield that is), run wire down A-pillar area and tape it in
place.
Mounting Knock Sensor: With A-pillar still off mount knock sensor at bottom
corner of wind shield and run wire down A-pillar with antenna wire.
Zenesis Connector:

5. Gray/Black (-) Optional2 (Input): Not Used
Relay 1
Cut the starter wire: STARTER BLACK (+) IGNITION SWITCH
HARNESS it is the thinner of the 2 black wires in the ignition harness. Attach
Yel wire of relay to key side of ignition wire and Yel/Blk to starter side.
Attach Violet wire from relay to violet wire on CN3 connector.
Relay 2
You have to make this relay your self, goto any automotive store and by a 4 pin
SPDT type relay. You will usually find them where they have fog lights and
whatnot. Also purchase some spare wire 18ga any color and some crimp on female
spade connectors. I attached the relay to one of the bolts for the steering
column and it made for a close and easy connection to the clutch switch. Here is
the wiring config for the relay
86 --> 12v - Any full time 12V source. I used the 2nd 12v power wire in the
ignition harness, Wht/Red I believe.
85 --> Clutch Bypass wire from CN9 connector
30 --> one of the two clutch switch wires
87 --> the other clutch switch wire
tap the wires from 30 and 87to the wires on the clutch plug. 1 goes to each and
it does not matter which one goes where.
Your install should be done, DO NOT start putting panels back on. If all has
gone well then you should be able to restart your car with no incident. If your
car restarts its time to register your remotes.
Registering the remotes:
Insert the key into the key cylinder.
Turn the key to the ACC position.
Cycle between ON and ACC 5 times and leave in the ON position the fifth time
(ACC-ON-ACC-ON-ACC-ON-ACC-ON-ACC-ON).
This must be done within 3 seconds.
NOTE: my car only took 4 turns so watch your speedo it will blink twice when
its ready for remote sensing.
You will hear a chirp and the parking lights will flash once. Press Button 1 of
each remote control once. You will receive a confirmation chirp and parking
light flash after each remote control. Once the remote controls have been
registered with the control module, turn the key to the OFF position and
confirm that each remote control works with the control module.
Now close doors and test every thing. If you have a manual car, you will not be
able to test the remote start till you move the car and follow the reservation
procedure. Hopefully my headaches have helped you have a quick and easy
install. Fell free to PM with any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
Can a Mod move this to the audio/Alarm section please or even the DIY section... thanks and sorry
