DIY: Stop OEM rear carpet from slipping on xB1.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for the damages that you caused. So if you broke something or hurt yourself, don't come crying to me.

In this DIY, I will show you how to secure your OEM rear carpet from slipping your 1st gen xB.

About this DIY:

Time from start to finish:
30min

Level of difficulty in 1-10 range (where 1 stands for easy and 10 stands for extremely hard):
2

So don't you hate it when your rear carpet kept on slipping?

And it made parts of the carpet bend?

Well, to fix this, you will need to get some velcro.

Also, a way to clean/pick up some lint. I used this:

Now, make 6 stripes of velcro. I made 2in. each.

Since it will be hard for the velcro to stick on the edge of the carpet, I will just stick it like an inch away from the edge.

Then position the 3 stripes on the right side.

After positioning it, it's time to peel off the bottom of the stripes and stick it on top of the cover.

After that is done, peel off the top part of the stripe.

Then carefully place the carpet on the cover so it will be straight.

After that side is done, lets start on the other side.

Position the 3 stripes and peel off both sides of the stripes.

Then lay the carpet flat and it is done.

So when you want to use the rear compartment, you can take off the carpet, like so...

*Note: The weather was cool so it will be hard for it to stick on properly.

Good luck!

Re: DIY: Stop OEM rear carpet from slipping on xB1.

I used regular velcro on my carpet and stuck it on with hot glue... It stuck on for about a week, then the rug went back to being all slippery..

when you said regular, do you mean those products that are below 3M stuff? haha!

anyway, if the 3M velcro stuff came off, im planning to put those heavy duty (haha, i said duty) 3M double sided tape on it. but we'll see...
