DIY:Door lock lever removal and install Gen1

Simple removal of the OEM and installing the NIGHT WERKS Chrome door lock lever.
Work time: 10-20min.
Mechanical level:1
(1-if you have a screwdriver/10-skilled mechanic)

OEM door lock lever

NIGHT WERKS Chrome door lock lever

You’ll need to remove/loosen the door cap/panel to remove the door lock lever.
Remove 3 screws that hold the door cap/panel to door using proper screwdriver.
The third screw by the inner door jamb is plastic and needs to be unscrewed and pulled out.

Next you’ll need to pull door cap/panel away from door. Door cap/panel is held on by plastic door cap/panel clips.
Start from the bottom of door by pulling the cap/panel edge with fingers and pull firmly away from door. (watch yer head.)
You’ll need to loosen all the bottom clips in order to push up the cap/panel and to pull the top away from the door lock lever without having to remove the whole cap/panel.

Pull top portion of door cap/panel away from the door lock lever to gain access and to unscrew lock lever.

Attach/screw on NIGHT WERKS Chrome door lock lever. Do not over tighten door lock lever. Also gauge the position of height of door lock lever when open/closed position to match the rest of the door lock lever. (Do not close door when door cap/panel is loose.)

Reinstall door cap/panel in reverse.

Finished.

added note . if you pull a little to hard like i did and break a tab. you can easily replace them. Just go to your local dealership parts dept and pick up some.
