DIY: Broken Window Control Housing

this is my first DIY so please be nice to me. i did this months ago and i didn't have a camera at the time. so i took my door apart and took some pics.

if you break the little tab that holds the housing in you can do what i did.
i took a old piece of 1 1/2" pipe and cut it up and ended up with this.

i took the pipe and cut off a small piece then cut it in half so i had to half "moons" if you want to call it that. then drilled holes into one end so i could use the two screws that were on the housing. then i kept on trimming off a little bit at a time until i got the perfect size. it turned out to be about a 1/4 of the pipe.

make sure it hangs a little bit past the housing so it can grab onto the door. it will look like this.

when you go to put it back in put the PVC side in first.

when you get it in there it will slide a little bit so you can snap the other side in.it will grab onto the door like this.

Now you have a window control that you will never know it was broken. i forgot i did this because it is so solid.

for the other ones i don't know how to fix. all of my other ones are not broken but that is the best i can do with the driver door. i think the pass front do has the screws too but i know the back doors do not. so you are on your own there.

not a bad idea. i broke my drivers side more than once i just use some super glue. the one i used to is to hold a cracked bumper together so it can be repaired. works awesome cant tell the difference
