DIY: 2nd Gen Shift and E-brake Boot replacement

Just a quicky on replacing the stock shift and e-brake boots with new leather pieces from RedlineGoods.

First off the stock pieces

Removal is easy. Unscrew the shift knob and pull the trim straight up. Both boot and trim will come right off. For the e-brake same routine, pull the trim straight up. Here it gets a little different you need to slide the cover off of the e-brake, it'll take a little force but comes right off.

You'll end up with this.

Now for the new pieces.

You will need to unclip the shift boot from teh trim and undo the staples holding it in place. Then you need to staple the new on in its place.

After stapling it then you just need to clip it back in place on the trim.

After it is clipped snap the trim back on.

Screw the knob back on.

And you are done.

For the e-brake boot it is a little easier.

Slide the new leather boot over the stock one until it won't go down any further. It should look like the photo.

Then just slide it back on the e-brake lever.

And snap the trim back on around it. making sure that the stock guides for the trim don't get caught inbetween.

And then you have your end result.

Which trim? Nevermind it doesn't matter. For both of them just grab and pull, they are only snapped in.
