| My DIY Fuel Door mod Well, I've wanted a smoked fuel door cover for some time now, but didn't want to pay for one, so I made one myself.
What you need:
A thin piece of plexiglass (I used lexan)
A Dremel
400 Grit sandpaper
First, uninstall your fuel door:
Second, dremel the support off of the rear.
Third, use the fuel door as a template to dremel the plexiglass in it's image:
Fourth: Install support to plexiglass, and re-install the door.
Mine's almost done, but I'm busy spraying the support black, and smoking the plexiglass.
I think I will use 3m tape to secure it.
I'll post pics when I'm done.

Will do.
I made mine dark, to match my tails, but if you made your own, you can tint it as much as you want! |

And you did not disappoint at all. It looks really good, and I think I may have to do this eventually as well.
Thanks for this one!!
Sorry to post twice, but I forgot to ask, what are you using to smoke the plexiglass?

| Re: My DIY Fuel Door mod took some new pics, but I REALLY must've smoked the hell out of the thing, cause it's barely see-thru at all.
I still like it, but I think I'm gonna make another one today and fool around with it. |
