DIY: "Sakura" Fender Mirror Bracket

Fair Caution:
If you use this original idea/creation for any financial gain, please do not be tempted to do so.
You did not create it, nor fabricate it, so you should not prosper by it.
If you would like to make/use it for your personal vehicle, then please do so, as long as you give props to "SAKURA" where props are due.

Thank you for keeping it real.
SAKURA

CAUTION:
Safety First/Use discretion/You break it you fix it/You assume all risks and responsibilites.

This fabrication is for those of you who would like to sport those "Fender mirror" without having to drill holes to the top of your fender(s).
This bracket will allow you to change up your style whenever, and not having to worry about holes in your fender after removing the fender mirror.

1. I used this set. Very sturdy yet workable.

2. Applying "SAKURA" FMB (Fender Mirror Bracket) to the driver side.
Prop bonnet, and gauge where to attach bracket. (depends on your preference and liking).
Also, make sure you measure the mirror and bracket so that it clears the bonnet when opening and closing.

3. Butt up the sheet and mark with pencil where you need to bend the sheet.

4. Bent "SAKURA" FMB. Double check measurment, and level it.

5. Next I traced the mirror base onto the top portion of the sheet where the mirror base will seat.
Trace it with a pencil, then cut, shape, and grind edge smooth.

6. Next I drilled holes to "SAKURA" FMB for the mirror, and holes for the inside part of the fender (engine bay area).
Then I covered the entire edge of "SAKURA" FMB with a door edge molding.

7. Test fit for clearence before final install.

8. Next I attached the mirror base to "SAKURA" FMB with M6x20 1.0 pitch nuts/bolts

9. Next I attached the "SAKURA" FMB to the inside part of the fender with M6x25 1.0 pitch nuts/bolts/washer.
Use large washer for good backing support for thin SCION fender.

10. Next, attach mirror to your "SAKURA" FMB, and adjust everything.

Re: DIY: "Sakura" Fender Mirror Bracket

Nice!

I dont see how you can stop people from marketing these without your permission though.

There is no patent and that is a fairly easy bracket to fabricate.

Re: DIY: "Sakura" Fender Mirror Bracket

Hey Eric, practical question. How is the vibration on these? I love the look but am afraid they would be shaking too much to see stuff. Please let me know.

Thanks!

true, but if this bracket comes out on the market, and peeps on clubxb and other sites will know that its "SAKURA"s idea, and not original "SAKURA" made.
in the past i couldve made quite a bit of $$ by copying someone elses creation and putting my own twist and mass producing it but, i chose not to cause it was never mine to begin with. btw, im upgrading the original bracket "better" as we speak. v.2 comming soon!

the bracket is solid, heavy duty and compact with rubber mounting pad for the mirror base which eliminates any google eyes.

thanks everyone!
