| DIY: Painting the brake calipers... Idk if there's a DIY on this yet but I had to take pics and post because it was such an easy mod... took me like 2 hours to do the four tires and it probably took that long because it was hot outside haha. I got the brake caliper paint kit at autozone but I know you can get kits with diff colors of brake caliper paint at a local racing store or something. Good luck
FYI - it says not to paint your calipers on a humid day - I did and nothing happened
1) Jack the car up and remove the tire (I used the jack and a stand since the car was going to be in the air while I painted.
2) Here's the brake caliper paint kit I got at AutoZone for $14.99 - not bad!
3) Clean the caliper with the caliper spray, brush with a toothbrush or something similar.
4) I taped a bag over the brake to make sure I didn't get any paint on it, but after the 2nd wheel I found this really wasn't necessary.
5) Stir up the caliper paint (it's kind of thick) and paint the first coat. Wait 15 minutes in between coats.
6) When you're done let it dry (I waited like 30 min and then put the tire back on and it dried while I was painted the others) and then I wouldn't drive your car for 12-24 hours that to let the paint cure.
RAWRRRRRR haha |

| Re: Painting the brake calipers... Nice job it looks good, hope you were carefull not to get any on the front pads or the edge of the pads it can seal them, making the brakes fail to open/close properly. |

Black is "safe"
But seeing how easy this was - if I felt bored I'd def redo them green haha
And my brakes are working fine (knock on wood) so I guess that means I didn't get any on the edge. |
