Diy Hub Spacer Install

Disclaimer: if you wreck your car or hurt yourself or anyone else doing this you are on your own, Please use jack stands and re-torque all bolts to specifications.
I Know there could have been more pictures, but I was by myself and it is not easy to shoot a camera and handle the parts at the same time. Anyway you will get the idea this a very easy mod and should be easy for anyone to do.

Tools required:
Jack & Jack Stands
10,13.14,17mm sockets and ratchet
Breaker bar
small flat tip screw driver

I used ½” spacers which I purchased off Ebay for $40.00I wanted to get the OTG ones but he was out of stock and I did not want to wait.
Anyway they are just a chunk of machined aluminum and I used a micrometer on them they are both ½” and the bolts included were automotive grade.

First jack up your box and remove rear wheel.
Once the wheel is removed this is what you will see.

Next remove the ABS sensor by inserting a small flat tip screwdriver in the opening and gently prying down while pulling out on it to release the clip that holds it in place.

Remove the 14mm bolt which holds the brake line in place and pull it away from the bracket.

Remove the 10mm bolt which holds the emergency brake cable in place. Pull it up off the stud and push it to the side.

Now you can remove the four 13mm bolts which attach the hub they are kind of tight so a breaker bar will be helpful.

Get your spacer and a bolt ready so you can wiggle out the hub and put the spacer in place.

Spacer Kit

Here is a shot of the spacer when installed

Now you can snug the four new longer bolts, The ones that came with my kit had 17mm heads on them anyway use a torque wrench and set it at 46 Ft Lbs. (the instructions in my lit said 46 inch pounds Hmmm something lost in the Chinese translation I guess)
Now you can put the rest back together the only problem I had was the emergency brake cable would not line back up on the stud until I pried it open a little and slid it up on the cable. Make sure the ABS sensor is snugly back in place or else you will laying back under your box when it falls out and your idiot light comes on.

To do both sides took a little over an hour and the end result is nice new look for $40.00!

It wont change tire wear either way, What it does is push your tires out to make them more flush in line with with the front wheels.

to save time too you dont really have to remove the 10mm ebrake cable. ive done mine twice now, 10 and 20mm, and it can stay on an everything move fine. And i recognize that packaging...lol

Re: Diy Hub Spacer Install

Nice.

OTG is out of the shims for quite a while now. I was inquiring sometime last month and they were out then. I bought mine from evolved concepts. Followed the DIY from OTG. When I took off the 4 bolts, I had a hard time removing the hubs. It was like welded in there. I had to use a hammer & puncher to take it off.
