I have a 2005 xB and the front washer doesn't work but the rear does.
I checked the hose for the front and fluid does travel through to the point where it attaches to the hood. As I said the rear works, so I believe the pump is fine.
I'm not sure if the sprayers are clogged but when I detach the hose at the hood and use the washer nothing comes out. Also when I use the rear nozzle I hear a electric buzz, but nothing when I use the front.
Front line is definitely not clogged, although I can't rule out the sprayer itself... i think the stalk may be bad, but i'm not really sure how to go about diagnosing it or fixing it really.
So I finally replaced with the Vibe stalk and the int. wiper works, which is great, the problem is the fluid still doesn't come out...
Does anyone one know if there is a fuse that may connect to the stalk to trigger the front wiper fluid? It's all I can think of at this point...
What I know is that the front line is clear, the rear wiper fluid works (pump should be ok), and I believe there is no electrical signal being sent when the front wiper fluid is being triggered (I just replaced the stalk, so it's not that). Anyone have any other thoughts?
When I bought my last xB, the front passenger nozzle didn't work. The lines had fluid in them, but nothing came out. I actually found that the line was kinked behind the hood insulation panel right next to where it connected to the nozzle. Straightened it out and it has worked ever since. Not sure if it's the same as your problem from your previous posts, but won't hurt to check.
How did you take off the hood insulation Panel? Were you able to get it back on or did you have to buy new hardware? The nozzles are not squirting on my 2006 scion xb and I think i need to take off the nozzle, but i cant seem to find any info on how to do that. Thanks!
image from repair manual. I found that my pump had to be replaced as it only pumped for the rear and not when you selected the front. there are 3 terminals on the pump. I swapped the wires so when I selected rear it would squirt the front until the new pump arrived.
I had that problem. Turned out the nozzle was the line attached to was cracked, so the pressure pushing the fluid was taking the path of least resistance. Replaced the unit, and it's all sprays like it's supposed to
