Am I too old for an xb?

Tomorrow is decision day. I am looking at a new, white (only color they could find in the state with a 5spd) 12 xb. No upgrades as I want to do them myself. But, thats the part that got me thinking, am I too old for an xb?

38 divorced, 3 kids. I've been divorced for two years and was forced to sell my pride and joy jeep to keep my house. Things have settled back down and after two years of driving a beat up 97 camry I decided it was time to treat myself to something else.

I was drawn to the xbs due to price, decent mileage, toyota motor, customizable (reasonably priced) and did I mention price?...

But again, am I too dang old to have a xb, trd/tien spring lowered, 18s, rear wing, system?

Too old? Welcome to the club. I am 41 with a 2006.5 thats lowered as a family car for me the wife and 3 boys. You are never to old! Plus my user name is on the front winshield in vinyl. There are lots of us middle agers on here. Check out some of the profiles and albums. As you have found out driving your "beater camry", time for some fun and enjoy the drive.

^^^^^^ so true. I live in florida and I see actual old people driving them all the time, even the special release series!

They love them because they are cheap and fun to look at.. My grandmother (whos no longer with us) saw mine when i bought it and she loved it because of how big it was and how cheap it was to operate. She said she would have bought one if she had been introduced to it before she got her Corolla (which was around the same price)

Let me sum it up this way:

52 years old + married 26 years + 23 year old daughter at home + mortgage + an xB owner since 2005 = As much fun as you want to have...

Well then...guess I can toss these Buick brochures. Now to make the final decision....any must have things I need to make sure this thing has from the factory?

They come with the basic features right out of the box - no pun intended for us 1st Gen owners. If there's nothing added, you're good to go IMO. The real fun is personalizing it, and the friends you'll make as you do.

Stick around here long enough, and you'll find we're just one big family, and share more than just our affection for the xB with one another.

BTW, did I say a white xB is the best canvas?

60 years on the clock here. Can you hear me chanting "Go, man, GO!"?
